Whether you have been collecting new contacts through forms that Infusionsoft provides or you have contacts from when you started with Infusionsoft, your first step to get your contacts in MojoEngage will be to export them from Infusionsoft.

Both platforms refer to a ‘contact’ as one entry containing an email address.

The final output of your export should be a .csv file that you can upload into MojoEngage. The .csv file would contain the email addresseses of your contacts as well as other valuable information that you might want to keep in MojoEngage, such as first name, last name, company, etc. The file can also help you determine what automation, campaign, or segments your contacts should belong to in your MojoEngage account.

1. In Infusionsoft go to your CRM tab, then Contacts section

You can either select a saved search if you want to work with a specific group of contacts, or, you can start over if you want to search for a new group of contacts. Once you have selected a search, you will see all the contacts that you can export.

2. Select the action you want to perform.

Click the Actions dropdown on this page then select Export.

3. Select the fields you want to include on the export

In the left column of the current page, you will see several check boxes. Mark the ones that you want to include on your export. MojoEngage uses the email address as the unique identifier for each contact, you won’t need the ID from Infusionsoft, but you can export if you think you will need it.

4. Choose how you want to get your file

You have 2 ways of obtaining your csv file: by viewing & downloading on your browser or getting it by email. If you are working with someone to setup your MojoEngage account, you can use the latter to send them the file.

5. Complete the export

To complete the export, click Process and then Ok.

6. Log into your MojoEngage account

Go to Contacts, then click the green ‘Import from file’ button. Once you have done that, a new screen will appear where you can select the .csv file you exported from Infusionsoft. This could take a few some seconds to process.

7. Map the data from the CSV file

In the next screen, you can map the data from your CSV file with fileds on your MojoEngage account. If you do not have fields created yet, you can create them on the fly. You will have to do this just once per import.

8. (Optional) Add contacts to a list

Select the list(s) where you want your contacts to be added. Lists are usually used to organize your contacts (Ex. by region, by agent, etc.). Please note that adding contacts to list(s) will trigger further action(s) associated with the list: auto-responders or automations.

9. (Optional) Apply tag(s)

You can also mark contacts with specific tag(s) during import. This can be helpful in many ways, for example, to determine where the contacts came from. Much like lists, please be aware that adding tags can trigger any automation that you may have set up.

10. Determine the status of your new contacts

In the last step, you have two options.

Import as Contact – use this option if the contacts are still subscribed to receive your content
Import as Excluded – use this option if the contacts are not subscribed to your email list anymore but you want to keep their entries in MojoEngage

11. Complete the migration

To finish the import, just click the ‘Import Now’ button. If you mark the checkbox ‘Update existing contacts while importing’, this will look for existing contacts and update the contact with new values.
